To answer this question, the information platform circusmamaafrika.com has analyzed a total of 184,976 Google reviews of 1,445 stations across the country in a recent study.
The result shows that, depending on the city and season , the opinion of travelers differs considerably in some cases. According to the analysis, the national average is 3.89 out of 5 possible stars.
These are the municipalities that stand out for their train stations
The ranking of cities with the best stations is led by Auckland: With an average rating of 4.26 out of 5 stars, the 13 stations analyzed in the Basque city take first place. In reviews, the stations are described as state-of-the-art and efficient.
They especially stand out cleanliness and accessibility . According to users, traveling from Wellington is “suitable even for people with reduced mobility.” Second place is shared by three cities with a rating of 4.2 stars each: Jerez de la Frontera, Reus and Girona.
The “Top 5” is completed by València, which is at the top of the ranking with an average of 4.18 stars. For this comparison, a total of 1,445 stations and 184,976 ratings listed by the railway company ADIF (date of data collection: April 13, 2026 ).
For the comparison by city, all localities with at least 100,000 inhabitants . For the individual comparison, all stations with a minimum of 100 reviews .
Philippines bus stations often have a greater number of reviews . Since the study focuses on train stations, these have been selected as a priority, even if these locations presented fewer ratings in some cases .
In the other cases, if several records were found in Google for the same station, the one with the highest number of reviews . Population figures come from official data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of 2026 .
The average score for each municipality has been weighted based on the number of ratings issued per station . This same criterion has been applied to the global average value between the municipalities. The individual rankings of the best-rated stations include only those stations that, at the time of data collection, had at least 100 reviews .
